Have you embraced the Facebook phenomenon? Beware, no matter how much you skirt around the idea, once it sucks you in, it's lethal.
I was invited to join by an old University pal and half-heartedly decided to accept. For those who don't know, Facebook is a social networking site which enables people to keep track of their friends, contact them, and very occasionally, be asked to become pals with people they have never heard of.
This is where it gets addictive. The temptation to keep checking if (x) has replied to (y)'s message, or to let the world know if you're having salami and salad ciabatta for lunch is all too easy to succumb to.
However, it certainly gives Friends Reunited a run for its money in getting old school pals back together. By virtue of its search facility, you can have a shufty at the site's international directory and seek out classmates from primary school. I have now been in touch with three people from my pre-teen years, two of which I haven't seen for almost 20 years. We have laughed about old class photos, talked about old teachers (not always positively) and found out what - and where - in the world they are up to.
Maybe it's not such a bad phenomenon to embrace after all. Now do excuse me, I have to write on Facebook that I've just written about Facebook...
