Every good jolly must come to an end. Today is my first back at the Visiter for more than two weeks and it is time to start thinking about all the big events of summer.
As well as the International Street Festival, Summer Classics, Summer Pops, Flower Show and countless other events, I have an even bigger task to look forward to.
In early August I have my very first stint as Best Man, at my cousin's wedding. Even though I have done a wee bit of public speaking in my time, I have never done anything like this before, so if any Spare Times readers have hints for speeches which entertain, without offending Granny, I'd be very grateful.
Not only that, the very next day I have to be up for the 7.30am train to Glasgow, so I can also attend my former flatmate's nuptials. Any hangover tips while you're at it?
