As you will notice in tomorrow (Friday)'s Visiter, jazz fans were out in force in Town Centre Gardens today to see the Tom Sykes Quartet get the 2007 Southport International Jazz Festival up and running.
I'd be telling fibs if I implied I knew the ins and outs of the genre, but there is a lot to be said for some smooth tunes from a live band providing the backdrop to a spring day.
It was just a shame I had to dash back to the office and write up the copy for tomorrow's paper. If you go to any of the 65 concerts which are part of this year's Festival, please tell us what you thought about it - and the event in general.
If you don't want to leave a comment here, you can always email them to visiternews@southportvisiter.co.uk
